An easy day today, a spot of volunteering at Wimpole Estate parkrun & day 2 of my 30 day challenges.  I managed to get an steady 2.5km jog in whilst setting up my arrows & cones at my volunteer post.  This included a 400m sprint from one point to another on the course to cheer people on before they got to the hill & to allow me to collect the signage once the tail runner came through. I did have a minor panic getting set-up when I couldn’t unlock the padlock on the gate….a quick call to the run director & I discovered that whilst the padlock was locked it wasn’t actually locking the gate! One more check to add to the checklist for future volunteering efforts I think! It was great to see so many people braving the cold, drizzly weather & mud on the first Saturday parkrun of the year.
2 naps throughout the day (rest & recovery is important too you know!) and I have just done 50 squats, 16 press-ups, 20 second plank and 20 second wall sit. Â I’m almost at 10,000 steps for the day too.
Overall a fairly successful Saturday.
Glad you had fun volunteering – and just a quick thanks too. Wimpole is my ‘home’ ParkRun and whilst I wasn’t there today I’m thankful for those who volunteer to make it happen 🙂
While you were doing that I was with people in Switzerland and we were in the rain playing ingress (augmented reality game with mobile phones). Sometimes geeks will do strange things for entertainment.
Sounds like fun! Shame you didn’t have slightly better weather for it though
No worries, it’s my home run too so I like to try and volunteer when I can as I would miss it if it wasn’t there!
